Library benchmarks

We tested mle_fit in many real data sets for consistency and compared the time and values obteined by the library with the powerlaw Python package.

Problems with powerlaw package¶

• Impossibility to run the p-value bootstrapping test;

• Higher computational time, especiamente para floats;

• Condições estranhas para os dados, como aceitar somente candidatos que garantem um desvio padrão do expoente $\alpha$ menor que 0.1, $\hat{\sigma}\leq 0.1$;

• Incapacidade de fitar outras distribuições, como a lei de potência com corte exponencial.
